Corinna the Cream Cabinet
Corinna was quiet and unassuming. Most people had passed her by. Her brass hardware was brown with age and her chipped dark brown finish helped her disappear into the shadows. Fortunately for her that day, I was on a mission to find a very specific size of cabinet for a special client. When I noticed that Corrina’s top lifted up on hinges to reveal an open tray space I wondered if she could be the one I had been searching for. To be honest, I had to try hard to see past the stained bright red velvet interior that was peeling away. Corinna had not been looking after herself. But who could blame her? No-one had cared for her in many years. With a few coats of fresh cream paint, some gold paint detailing and a thorough cleaning, Corinna looks so much younger and brighter. But she hasn’t lost any of her vintage style. I lined the inside of the lid area and drawers with a gorgeous wallpaper my client chose called Annalisse Magnolias from our friends at Half Full. Now Corinna is ready for her new life among treasured possessions in my cleint’s home.
