Cavalieri and Fornasetti the File Cabinets
Here’s one from the archive! Back in 2007, way before FOUND had been founded, I added style to these two-drawer file cabinets by framing wallpaper sections from Piero Fornasetti’s “Tema e Variazioni” by Cole & Son and fixing them to the plain fronts. Fornasetti started his famous Tema e Variazioni designs in 1952 based on the face of Lina Cavalieri, an Italian actress and opera signer who appeared in a 19th Century magazine.
The black frames have faux alligator texture and clear plastic over the wallpaper sections. The drawer insides have rails for legal or letter sized hanging file folders.
Great used as file cabinets, end tables or as two pedestals for a desk. We used them as desk pedestals with an added wood top for a perfect desk height.
There are a few small dings to the surfaces as a result of them having been used for the last 15 years so I’ve photographed the two most noticeable. If you use these as desk pedestals, you won’t see either mark.
20.5ʺ wide
17ʺ deep
28.25ʺ high
Shipping is NOT included. If you’re unable to pick up your piece in San Francisco please contact me (sarah@bashforddesign.com) for a shipping quote. Depending on your zip code, shipping could cost between $100 and $900.
